Centre of Contemporary Dance and Performance OTHER DANCES, (Ukraine)

DRUGIE TANTSI /OTHER DANCES/ is both a School of Contemporary Choreography, and an  Information Centre,
its mission being the popularization of a professional Contemporary Dance in Ukraine.

Both classic choreography and all main technique  of contemporary dance existing today are taught at the School,as well as gymnastics,acrobatics,plastic and respiratory techniques actual for dancers and performars,also vocal skills.

The School educates more than 120 kids and teenagers aged 5 through 18.Its staff consists of eight full time pedagogues.

OTHER DANCES Centre is an initiator and an organizer of an annual International Festival FREE DANCE, which has become a traditional event for Dnipropetrovsk since 2001.

OTHER DANCES’ creative initiatives found their continuation in joint art projects of various genres of  contemporary art in Dnepropetrovsk region, as well as in other cities of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Lithuania, France, Germany, Czech’s Republic, Poland.

Our life is a Dance.
At times it is light and free, mesmerizing and weightless, offering extraterrestrial feelings…
At times it is that forceful to make head spin around, it is also  passionate and brave in its interpretation of the meanings of Time and Space.

Our life is a Dance. The eternal Dance of Love…
If we don’t dance our own Dance, then who is going to dance it?

 «C`EST LA VIE” is an art project, which is a synthesis of a Theatre and a Dance within the joint stage space. It is the result of a joint creative work of the students of the Centre Of Contemporary Dance and Performance OTHER DANCES  and the pedagogues-choreographers of Ukraine and Moldova The production of the project was preceded by the creative residencies of  Alexandra Soshnikova and Sergei Golovnya (Moldova) which took place in Dnepropetrovsk in November , 2005.
